Fellowship Coaching Request Form

    GPS' Fellowship Writing Coaches support you through your application writing process. You do not need to wait until you have completed a draft to request a coach: we recommend applicants begin working with a coach early in their writing process!

    Please note the following:
    - Coaching is only available for Rice graduate students applying to external (non-Rice) fellowships.

    - All requests for coaching must be made at least 3 weeks prior to the fellowship deadline. Those applying for NSF GRFP or DoD NDSEG are encouraged to request coaching at least 6 weeks before their application deadline.

    - Applicants may experience a waiting period before matching with their individual coach during peak application season.

    - Applicants applying to fellowships with Fall deadlines are encouraged to attend Write-a-Thons, our drop-in writing sessions, for additional support.

    Please tell us where you are in the application process:
    I have reviewed the application components and eligibility requirements.
    I have met with a faculty member regarding my proposal.
    I have identified faculty members to write strong reference letters.
    I have started or completed a draft of my proposal.
    I have contacted my reference writers and provided them with the materials necessary to write an effective letter.

    Over the course of my one-on-one coaching for this fellowship, I agree to respond to coaching-related emails--from the GPS program administrator or my assigned coach--within three business days.
